New Year Resolutions for Your Internal Self

As the beginning of a New Year rings in, people tend to take time to assess where they made progress and where they had challenges the year before, then set goals for the coming year. They often set these goals in January and when they don’t come to fruition by February, they forget all about them or give up. The next year rolls around and they simply repeat the process.

January is the natural time to do this because it’s when our calendar changes to a new numbered Gregorian year. If you look at nature, winter is quiet and dark, and the seeds that were planted in the fall, hibernate and gather strength for their development in the spring. When spring comes around, we see the buds blossom, the shoots sprout up, and manifestation comes into fruition.

So December and January are the perfect time to assess the previous year and past years. But many people don’t look very deeply into the reasons why they are seeking change. Real transformation will come for those who not only look at surface achievements or challenges, but at the deeper reasons behind them.

Have you forgiven yourself for all your perceived past failures? Have you released fears of success? Have you let go of unrealistic expectations of others? Are you truly ready to plant seeds of real change, or are you just playing the same goal setting games as in past years?

If you truly want to change this year, think past superficial. Think deeply. What are your past traumas that have held you back? What story have you been telling yourself year after year? It’s time to change your story. Change the internal you. You are not a victim of your history. If you stop defining yourself by your past, you start to open the door to achieving the amazing life you dream of.

Deep work is hard. It takes courage and often a mentor, facilitator, or helper of some sort to guide us, inspire us to keep going, and serve as witness to our progress. There are many methods a person can use. Some that come to mind are hypnosis, emotional release techniques, re-birthing, chakra and auric clearings.

Even though it’s tough work, the freedom acquired with each release is worth it. Letting go of fears, judgments, re-lived traumas, blame, and shame allow the opportunity for re-framing of our identity and a rewriting of our story.

Now when those seeds of change are planted, they germinate and grow, not into a repeat of our old selves in a new year, but a new, liberated version that operates on a higher vibrational frequency, attracting its equivalent higher vibratory experiences and people.

So this New Year, plant the true seeds of change… seeds of internal change, which will ultimately lead to external manifestations of that change. Let the sprouting and growth of spring be your jumping off point. All work done before that is planning, cleaning, and preparing for the explosion of growth to come.
